(FEB 11) Last night at a sold-out crowd
at the Delta South Hotel, in Edmonton, Canada, Jelena Mrdjenovich,
130.6, of Edmonton, won an eight-round unanimous decision over
Belinda Laracuente, 127, Bronx, New York. in didn't need any
directions on the road to redemption last night.
Mrdjenovich told the local news media that it was hard to fight her
[Laracuente] because she keeps her hands so low, and backs up a lot.
She also said that Laracuente was tough and talented. Laracuente
said after the fight that Mrdjenovich was “a great champion.”
