When she climbs into the ring in Tijuana
on Monday (18th) to face Claudia "Dinamita" Díaz, Jackie Nava will
be seeking to redeem herself in the eyes of her supporters and
rebuild the confidence shattered in May when she was knocked out and
robbed of her WBC super bantamweight title in the 8th round by the
(then unknown) Argentinian Alejandra Oliveras. Aside from competing
in (and winning) a few half marathons, Nava has done little since,
and describes the year so far as 'a nightmare'.
