(NOV 23) MSG
(Madison Square Garden) Network will air a special, “MSG Fight
Night at Madison Square Garden” at 8 p.m., Monday, November 27th,
featuring several of the undercard bouts from the Wladamir Klitschko
vs. Calvin Brock world heavyweight championship fight that was
hosted at Madison Square Garden on November 11th.
The special
will include the Laila "She Bee Stingin" Ali in her Madison Square
Garden debut defending her super middleweight WBC and WIBA titles
against Shelley Burton.
They will also air, New York State heavyweight champion Derric Rossy
defending his title against Shannon Miller. In addition,
former WBC featherweight champion and New York fan favorite
“Flushing Flash” Kevin Kelley battling former five-time
featherweight champion Manuel Medina in a 12 round IBF jr.
lightweight elimination bout.
Coincidentally all three fighters have strong bonds to The Garden:
Laila’s legendary father Muhammad Ali fought Joe Frazier at The
Garden in two of their epic trilogy battles, including "The Fight of
the Century" March 1971 and “Super Fight II” January 1974; Rossy won
the super heavyweight Golden Gloves Championship in 2004 at The
Garden and Kelley fought his memorable war against “Prince” Naseem
Hamed at The Garden in December 1997. This will be the first time
that these bouts will be broadcast on television. “MSG Fight Night
at Madison Square Garden” will also include footage of “The
Greatest” as he returned to The Garden to support his daughter.
