(AUG 31) Tonight on the All-Women’s card
in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Elena Reid won the WIBA World title
over Mary Elizabeth Ortega in a barn-burner 10 rounder by
unanimous decision. Final judges scores 98-92, 98-92, and 97-93.
Jill Emery won by a six-round unanimous decision over
Daria Hill. Final judges scores, 59-55, 59-55, and 58-56;
Melissa Hernandez TKO’d pro debuter Stacey Rogers in the
third round, after Rogers was taking too many shots, the ref stopped
the fight; and Laura Ramsey TKO’d Erin Toughill in the
first round. Apparently Toughill fell through the ropes which WBAN
was told were loose. We have also been told that this was actually a
KO with Toughill so will have more on this bout as information comes
