(AUG 20) Stacey Rogers enters the ring in her pro debut against
Melissa "Hurracan" Hernandez on the August 31 "A Ring of Their
Own" card August 31 at Harveys, Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Rogers, 23, is 5-0 as a kickboxer and is eager to prove she has
made a successful transition to conventional boxing. "The basics
are the same, it’s just getting over the muscle memory part of
it, using my hands and not kicking," Roberts said. Training with
Jim Cofer, Stacey reports has gone great, and she is coming in
to face Hernandez well schooled on drills, movement and in great
condition. Is she intimidated at debuting against Hernandez, who
has an outstanding amateur career to her credit and no losses?
"No, I’m not intimidated. This is the time for me to show what
I’m made of!" Stacey said. Part of Stacey’s training has also
been with lightweight warrior Kelli Cofer, who herself has seen
ring action with their divisions toughest fighters, so expect
lots of excitement from Stacey Rogers.
