(AUG 1) WBAN has been notified by
Promoter Boxu Potts, that Gizelle Salandy will be fighting for two
world titles, that include the WBC and WBA on September 15, 2006, in
Trinidad and Tobago.
Potts told WBAN, "The greatest
opportunity in female boxing is presented to Gizelle Salandy to
fight Lisa Holewyne for the two most prestigious Boxing Titles in
the world, WBA and the WBC Super welterweight title."
Boxu Potts has been given
the "all clear" to promote this fight by both Sanctioning
bodies (Potts sent in the documentation that Holewyne has
been approved for this fight against Salandy), and both
bodies have agreed that Holewyne is a formidable opponent to
fight the undefeated Salandy.
"Salandy is the youngest boxer
in the world to ever win a boxing title, i.e., winning the
IBERO WIBA title at the tender age of 14. Salandy is the
pride of female boxing in Trinidad
and Tobago this will be her biggest test in her colourful
boxing career. Salandy has set up camp at the BIOMel
boxing gym in Arima where she trains in the mountains.
She has a nutritionist, and a physical instructor as part of
her team to ensure maximum fitness come September 15th",
added Potts.
