Final Tribute to Rogerio Lobo
(JULY 30, 2006) WBAN received notice today from Layla McCarter, that
Rogerio Lobo, 35 years old, and a boxer out of Sao Paulo, Brazil,
was robbed and shot to death on Friday, July 28th, as he was closing
the pizzeria that he owned.
McCarter told WBAN, “Lobo had just fought on Wednesday July 26th,
winning that bout by TKO. He had 58 fights, with many notable
fighters on his resume, that included Kali Meehan, Kelvin Davis,
Timor Ibragimov, Owen Beck, and Michael Moorer over the span his
eleven year pro-boxing career.
Lobo was a proud father of a one year
old boy, Rogerio Lobo Jr. and Rogerio Lobo had a great personality,
only good intentions, and a heart of gold. We will miss him always
and our hearts go out to his family in this most difficult time. The
Johnny Tocco's Boxing Gym -Luis Tapia & Layla McCarter”
WBAN sends our deepest sympathy to Rogerio's friends and family.
