Wolfe to fight Ested on ESPN2 Card

– ESPN2 Friday Night Fights
returns to Memphis, TN
for an unprecedented night of boxing at FedExForum as Northeast Promotions
and Prize Fight Boxing
bring “Night of Champions”
on August 4th.
The seven
bout card will feature two of the brightest prospects in
boxing today Delvin
Rodriguez 19-1-1 (11 KO’s) and Anthony Peterson 18-0 (13
KO’s). Rodriguez, the current USBA Welterweight
Champion, will be battling in the ten round main event
against perennial contender Gilberto Reyes 18-4-1 (11 KO’s)
from Miami, FL. Rodriguez has been featured multiple times
on ESPN and has earned a reputation as an action packed
fighter for his ability to with stand punishment and battle
back for the win.
Reyes will
mark Rodriguez’s stiffest opposition yet and is sure to make
this bout an unforgettable one. The undefeated and current NABO
Lightweight Champion Anthony Peterson will be opposed by
knockout artist Marc Thompson 15-1 (12 KO’s) from Topeka, KS in
an 8 round feature bout. Peterson also has been featured on ESPN
multiple times as he ascends the world rankings. Bombs are
guaranteed to be exchanged between the boxer/puncher Peterson
and the slugger Thompson.
Not to be over
shadowed on this phenomenal card is the return of 8-Time World Champion “The
Baddest Female On The Planet” Ann Wolfe 23-1 (16 KO’s) from
Austin, TX. Wolfe will be pitted against the world
ranked Lisa Ested 10-4 (5 KO’s) from Richmond, VA. Wolfe, who
has consistently pursued a fight with Laila Ali, hopes that by
beating Ested she will finally get the opportunity to meet Ali
and settle their rivalry once and for all. Also on the card is
former 2-Time World
Featherweight Champion Freddie Norwood 39-1-1 (22 KO’s) from St.
Louis, MO. Norwood making his second appearance since
announcing his comeback will battle the tough nosed Anthony
Martinez from Costa Rica in an 8 round super featherweight bout.
All told there
will be 12 titles in the house on August 4th. “Night of Champions”
will be televised live on ESPN2 on August 4th at 8:00
