Reid:  "I just want to fight"
By Lee Bates

(JUNE 18) If there was ever a fighter who fit the term of, "THE total package" it would be Elena " Baby Doll" Reid (17-3-5, 5KOS). Saying Reid has it all as a fighter is an understatement.  Reid is an exciting fighter to watch, has a fan following, is a very skilled boxer, and---she's beautiful.

Reid is a marketer's and matchmaker's dream as she gives fans their money's worth with her all action style proving that she is more than just a pretty face. Though she has had 25 fights as a professional she is only 24 years old and is in the prime of her career. Reid has also showed a very good chin, never being knocked out. She does have a TKO loss on her record----but that fight was stopped due to cuts.

To many people in the boxing community----Reid is an uncrowned World Champion.

On Sept 11,  2004, she traveled to Germany to Challenge IBF Champion Regina Halmich. Many who were present thought that Reid clearly won the fight but the judges tally together ended up making the bout a draw. Reid would get another opportunity to challenge Halmich for the title a little over a year later on December 3r, 2005 once again in Germany. This time Halmich was given the decision and Reid was not pleased at all to say the least.
Reid said, "I, in reality beat Halmich twice.  The second fight was an even more convincing victory than the first,  as I was much more effectively aggressive."

Though Elena did not bring back the championship from Germany, she has proven that she will fight anywhere.  She also showed the mark of a real fighter who wants to prove that she is the best by going to Germany not only once but twice. Sadly Reid has not fought since that fight which was 6 months ago, which is no fault of Reid who is more than ready to fight.

"I will fight anybody from 112 and below. I just want to fight point blank. I'm in peak condition right now and could fight 10 rounds easily", said Reid.

Let's hope that Elena's plea will be heard and answered because it's the boxing fans who lose out on seeing such a talented fighter.
