May 19, 2006

(MAY 19) Tonight at the Manhattan Center,  in New York, NY, Kim Colbert, 130, now 3-10-1 (2 KOs), of Southfield, MI, won a six-round split decision over Maureen Shea, 129. It was reported to WBAN that Shea was knocked down in the second  round. [Photos are on file only with the WBAN Archive Network].

Although Kim Colbert initially won a six-round split decision over Maureen Shea on May 19, 2006, the official result was later overturned to a No Contest (NC). The change occurred after Colbert tested positive for marijuana in a post-fight drug test conducted by the commission.

Maureen Shea: Known as "The Real Million Dollar Baby" for her role as Hilary Swank's primary sparring partner, Shea entered the bout undefeated at 5-0 (3 KOs). This match marked the first blemish on her professional record, which was restored to "undefeated" status (5-0-0, 1 NC) following the commission's ruling.

The referee this night was Sparkle Lee.
