(MAR 13) WBAN has received a press
release from
Fresquez Productions, Inc., announcing that Holly Holm will
NOT be fighting Stephanie Jaramillo.
In May of 2005, WBAN received an
official announcement from Jaramillo stating that she had
retired as a professional boxer after being in the sport for nine
years---but Team Fresquez has offered a high purse to put together a
fight that boxing fans want to see----A trilogy of Holm vs.
Jaramillo.
The press release said the following:
Albuquerque's Stephanie Jaramillo has turned down an offer to fight
IBA World Champion, Holly Holm in June 2006. According to the latest
poll on newmexicoboxing.com, the fight would have made the trilogy
and is exactly what the fight fans want to see.
Jaramillo stated that she was just
too busy in other business and endeavors; even though she was
offered 200% more than she had ever made. It would have been the
biggest payday that the two New Mexican women would have fought for.
Team Fresquez wishes to thank Team Jaramillo for giving us an answer
right away, so that we can move on to find another suitable opponent
for New Mexico's biggest draw. We also would like to wish Team
Jaramillo the best, whether promoting or any other endeavors
Jaramillo is trying to accomplish.
If Jaramillo decides to take on Holm the offer is still on the table
for possible future dates.
