(AUG 26) It has been reported in a press
release that the Ministry of Sports of Trinidad and Tobago has
given $16,000.00 US to assist the promoters in helping set their
goals for Jizelle Salandy's upcoming fight. The bout is set
for September 25, 2006, and Salandy is set to fight Lisa Holewyne.
The money will be used as infrastructure
expenses for the entire show. The Ministry of Culture, Community
Development and Gender affairs has created the flare and fan fair to
this show by sponsoring a cultural show consisting of singers, D.Js
dancers an confetti's, Hilo has pledged at least $2600.00 US and NLCB
has pledged $2500.00US. This card will be hosted by Boxu Potts.
The fight will be televised live in Trinidad and Tobago, and delayed
on AROTO Promotion and on global internet.
Update on Salandy: Salandy was
regretfully killed in a vehicle accident in Trinidad.
