In Edmonton Alberta,
the temperature has already dropped down to the frigid low teens with
snow reported. But by November 18, expect things to heat up considerably
for "A Ring of their Own" World Title Wave. Fight night will see
fighters from Florida, Kansas City, Canada, Chicago, Montana and New
York take the ring for four world title bouts. Rock & Sock Productions
in conjunction with KO Productions returns the only all women’s boxing
series, "A Ring of Their Own" to the Shaw Conference for their second
appearance, and promises another trademark evening of skilled, exciting
women’s boxing. This event can also be viewed by live webcast. For

Franchesca "The Chosen
One" Alcanter and Jelena Mrdjenovich: Mrdjenovich (13-1) is fighting for
the vacant 130-lb. WIBF belt with the "home court advantage" over the
popular Alcanter (15-6) from Kansas City, but don’t let that fool you.
Alcanter is on a quest to secure a title for her family- 70 years ago
her grandfather and great uncle fought for but never won titles.
Laura Ramsey and
Shelley Burton: Middleweight BATTLE. Burton was supposed to fight
Leaticia Robinson, but she was not medically cleared for the bout.
Lisa "Bad News" Brown
and Jeannine Garside: Serious Canadian warfare. Toronto’s Brown faces
the protégé of former opponent and retired women’s champ Margaret
Sidoroff. Garside of Windsor, Ontario is 3-0 professionally with an
aggressive style. Brown (12-1-2) is equally aggressive and both fighters
are southpaws. Brown promises to deliver "Bad News" to Garside with her
first loss, and Sidoroff maintains her fighter "has the heart of lion
and only knows one speed, and that’s kill." In addition to attitude,
Garside has an impressive 40-5 amateur record that will enable her to
handle whatever Brown brings to the fight. With a
122-lb. WIBA
championship on the line in this bout, expect nothing less than
hard-hitting action.
Chevelle "Fist of
Steel" Hallback and Belinda Laracurente: friends outside the ring, but
on this night its all business. Hallback will display the advantages of
sparring with IBF champion Nate Campbell against Laracuerente, who is
returning to the ring after being robbed of the WIBA super feather
title in Japan in January. Hallback has the titles and Laracuerente is
on a mission for the 130-lb. crown.
World Title Wave will
take place November 18 at the Shaw Conference Center in Edmonton and
will be available live on pay per view in Canada and world wide via
broad band distribution. |
