NABC Makes a Big
Impact in Trinidad and Tobago....Source:
Press Release (Boxu Potts)
(NOV 11, 2005) Five World Champions were crowned on September 23rd,
Boxing Show at the Jean Pierre Complex Port of Spain Trinidad, by NABC
Chariman Ed Hutchinson after he read in the Bermuda Sun Newspapers that
five women were left stranded by the WIBC without their titles which
were allegedly paid for by ABC Boxing Promoter Boxu
Potts.
Potts claimed the WIBC Chairman allegedly
told one of his boxers Ms. Teresa Perozzi that she could not have left
the arena with her middle weight title belt after she had won it in the
ring.
Potts called in Chairman of the Trinidad
and Tobago Boxing Board of Control, Melchoir Taylor, who told Mr. Don
Moose Lewis (of the WIBC)
in no uncertain terms at the conclusion of a fight the belt becomes the
property of the boxer whilst the franchise/title remain the property of
the Sanctioning Body.
The WIBC Chairman then got angry and
stormed out of the stadium after the second title leaving these female
fighters, Lisa Brown, Pamela London, Iva Weston, Giselle Salandy without
belts. However the
NABC stepped in and saved the day.
The NABC, for it heroic actions is now the most popular female
sanctioning body in the West Indies.
