(NOV 11) "A Ring of Their Own" World
Title Wave November 18 in Edmonton marks Krysti Rosario’s fourth
appearance as ringside commentator for "A Ring of Their Own" .
Krysti has been commentating since 2003 for Comcast in Los Angeles,
and performing as a ring announcer since 2000. "I’m VERY excited
to be involved with "A Ring of Their Own," Krysti said and shared
her thoughts on the series and it’s place in women’s boxing.
"A Ring of Their Own" showcases talented women boxers. This is
not "foxy boxing". These are well trained, well-schooled boxers.
Boxers that sweat in the gym six days a week and pound the pavement
doing their roadwork. When you watch "A Ring of Their Own," you can
be sure you get your money’s worth. The series has been promoting
women’s boxing in a positive light and building careers for these
fighters. "
As for World Title Wave, Krysti is enthusiastic about such an
unprecedented evening of women’s boxing.
"This must be a record- FOUR title fights on one card!
I guarantee the audience an amazing evening of boxing. All the
boxers on this card will come prepared to win. I love the extensive
amateur careers of Lisa "Bad News" Brown and Jeannine Garside.
I met Lisa Brown in 1998 in Scranton, PA during the Canada vs USA
Dual."
Krysti boxed in the amateur ranks from 1996-1999, and was the
National Blue and Gold Champion at 139 pounds in 1997 and 1998, then
the 132 pound US National Champion in 1998 and US National silver
medallist in 1999.
Although no longer competing, Krysti remains active in the sport
she excelled in and still trains with coach Ben Lira at the
Teamsters Youth Boxing Club in South El Monte, California. Currently
she is a level 3 official and level 2 coach for USA Boxing, is a
referee and judge on the local and national level for men and women,
and teaches co-ed boxing classes at a local Los Angeles college.
2005 is also Krysti’s second term as the Athlete Representative on
the National Board of Directors for USA Boxing. Along with Aaron
Alafa and Albert Guardado she represents all the Olympic Style
boxers, both men and women in the United States.
World Title Wave will take place November 18 at the Shaw
Conference Center in Edmonton and will be available live on pay per
view in Canada and world wide via broad band distribution.
