On November 18 Lisa "Bad News" Brown
(12-1-2, 4 KO) and her trainer/husband Errol are planning to show
how "Bad News" makes titles as Lisa battles Jeannine Garside on "A
Ring Of Their Own" World Title Wave in Edmonton, Alberta at the Shaw
Conference Center.
Lisa’s nickname "Bad News" is something she will tell you she
brings to every fight. "It seems I always go into a fighter’s town
and when I win, it brings them a little bad news," Lisa stated. And
as she does so, her husband of 15 years, Errol, is in her corner.
Lisa, a native of Trinidad, met Errol on July 1, 1989 after being in
Toronto for a year. She recalls the meeting vividly.
"Errol invited my cousin to see him fight on an amateur show. I
went along and well you know, it was love at first sight!"
After his professional career in Canada, Errol retired from the
ring 15 years ago and now devotes his time to having a wife as a
champion. He is proud of Lisa’s accomplishments so far- and believes
his own dreams will be realized as she pursues her goals.
"I know he is happy and proud of me being a world champion. This
was something he wanted to accomplish for himself but he couldn’t
reach that goal and here I am accomplishing his dream. I know he is
proud- I see it in his attitude and in his eyes," Lisa said.
Errol Brown along with Mike Doesburgh and Nedrie Simmons are
preparing Lisa for her Canadian war with the 3-0 Garside. Lisa is
more than ready and minced no words about the fight.
"Well girl, I think she is in for some "Bad News." I am
confident; I am in shape and ready to go ten hard rounds if
necessary. I know Jeannine is not in the same class as me. Come
November 18, let’s see how she deals with "Bad News".
World Title Wave will take place November 18 at the Shaw
Conference Center in Edmonton and will be available live on pay per
view in Canada and world wide via broad band distribution.
