At this time, I must give up the IWBF Middleweight Title which I won in
December 2002 by knocking out Dakota Stone and successfully defended against
Yvonne Reis.
I regret the reason for this action, but unfortunately, I have been unable
to schedule a fight recently where a defense has been possible. I still
maintain my WIBA Middleweight Title, which has successfully defended on two
separate occasions. I also maintain the IBA Continental Light Heavyweight
Title that I won in a 10 round unanimous decision against Valerie Mahfood.
It has been my pleasure to reign as champion for the IWBF. Unfortunately,
considering the number of boxing organizations and the number of willing
promoters, priorities have to be set. My first priority is to retain my
dignity. Dignity is tremendously important to me. When selecting fights and
championship belts, I strive to maintain dignity to the sport and to myself
in demanding a standard of excellence. This standard has made me a world
class athlete. This standard has allowed me to navigate adversity. This
standard also permeates my boxing career. I will not be called a champion,
if I am unable to properly defend that title. If I am not allowed to fight
the best and to be recognized as a champion, then I can no longer maintain a
standard of excellence. When a championship belt no longer represents that
standard of excellence, then I am no longer interested in being represented
as that champion.
Utilizing these considerations, I have decided to give up the IWBF
Middleweight Title which I won in December 2002 by knocking out Dakota
Stone.
Sincerely,
Leatitia “Baby Girl” Robinson
