Pamela Barker, a new fighter on the scene in 1998, and is now retired,  made quite a stir do to the fact that she was immediately compared with the looks of Pamela Lee, but having the flair of the Mayweather clan, which was due to having Floyd Mayweather, Sr. as her trainer.  Pamela, at 5’6",and weighing in the 115 range, lives in Henderson, Nevada. She is a single parent, and raises her young son. (Update - Pamela is no longer with Mayweather)

Prior to boxing, Pamela was training in Muay Thai kickboxing, and had a record of 11-1. She trained with Master Toddy and Master Chan at the "Master Toddy’s Muay Thai Center" in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pamela did not have an easy start in making her pro debut, when Universum Box Promotion brought her to Germany to fight WIBF Flyweight champion Regina Halmich in Cologne on March 7, 1998.

Pamela went to Germany and during a press conference it was revealed that she had only been kickboxing. Needless to say, when it was discovered that Barker would be making a pro debut, they said that they would not allow Barker to fight Halmich. As Barker’s father told WBAN, "Pamela’s warm welcome she received was now over. She was treated so bad it was to make her cry."

Pamela next experience was equally not to be something that she would have expected. On April 4, 1998, she was to make her pro debut in San Salvador, El Salvador. The fight was a six-rounder, and it was declared an exhibition fight. The fight was in front of 17,000 spectators.

So, Pamela’s "official" debut occurred on October 22, 1998 in Reseda, California. She fought Paula Faye of San Diego, California, and defeated Faye in a four-round unanimous decision. Faye’s record dropped to 1-2-2.

After she fought Faye, she began training with Floyd Mayweather Sr. She now trains at the Nevada Partners Gym in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

On May 22, 1999, Pamela fought Patricia Stickler (photos above) at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, in a scheduled four-rounder on the undercard of the Oscar De La Hoya-Oba Carr welterweight title bout, Pamela won a second round TKO over Patricia Stickler of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On August 8, 1999 Pamela fought Donyale Williams (which WBAN would love to see this fighter stay out of the ring until she learned how to box) at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, Pamela weighed in at 114 lbs.

On September 11, 1999, Pamela fought Elisha Olivas of Denver, Colorado. Olivas, another winless fighter made it four rounds with Pamela, but dropped her record to 0-2-1.

On October 3, 1999, at the Lady Luck Casino in Lula, Mississippi: Pamela weighed in at 115 lbs. and moved her pro record to 5-0 with a second-round KO of Sarah Jones (114 lbs.) of Little Rock, Arkansas.

On February 19, 2000 Mandalay Bay,  Las Vegas, Nevada  Pamela Barker, Henderson, Nevada vs. Terry Cruz of Denver, Colorado fought to a 4-round draw. Cruz wond the first two rounds, and apparently it was not a great fight for Barker. Barker is now 5-0-1, and Cruz is 1-2-2.
