to witness the legends of the sport being celebrated and
honored----to many "unsung heroes" who dedicated their lives to
boxing, with each inductee having a unique story that transcended
the boundaries of the ring.

Pioneers of Women’s
Boxing in the Modern Age

beginning of the 18th century and the first known advertised bout is
dated from 1722. But until relatively recently, women were
simply not issued licenses to fight and that severely impeded the
potential for women’s boxing to become popular.
