Captain Courageous

Ramona ("Wild Dragon") Kühne, who won WIBF interim light welterweight title last October with a points win over Loli Muñoz,  has been elected Honorary Captain of professional cycling's Stadler Racing Team.  Rather less arduous than her usual appearances, Kühne's first official act in her new capacity will be to cut a ribbon to mark the start of the new season, whereupon she will be presented with a team jersey.

All this will take place this Saturday at a leading Berlin cycling store ( Zweirad-Stadler, Königin-Elisabeth-Str. 9-23, 14059 Berlin-Charlottenburg), where it is not too much to assume the WIBF champion will also be signing autographs. "Kühn" (feminine form "kühne"), incidentally, means "bold, daring, fearless..." in German, making it a not altogether inappropriate name for a boxer, but I don't think it's a nom de guerre.

The "Wild Dragon" bit, on the other hand, may be the product of some publicist or sponsor's fertile imagination. Something to do with beer, if I remember rightly.
