Dakota Stone
, 149, of Seattle, Washington, defeated Christy Martin, 149.8, of Las Vegas, Nevada, when Martin sustained a broken hand in the fourth round. I heard Martin tell her corner during the one-minute break, that her hand was hurt. But regardless, Martin came out in the fifth round, and was still fighting hard, and throwing bombs. As the sixth round began, Martin began to grimace with the apparent pain, and the ref told Martin to go to the neutral corner. At that time, the Ring Doctor examined Martin's hand, and then the Ref flagged the fight off at 1:09 of that sixth and final round. Stone was declared the winner by TKO. Martin apologized to her trainer Miguel Diaz saying, "I am sorry." I saw Martin's hand when Diaz removed the hand wraps, and it looked broken, with her knuckles protruding. Martin was hoping for her 50th win.
