5′ 5½″ bantamweight Dayana "El Diamante" Cordero [ Julieth Dayana Cordero Hernandez], on December 18, 1995 was born on December 18, 1995 in Caucasia, Provincia de Antioquia, Colombia, and currently lives in Caucasia.

She loved boxing so much that at the tender age of 14, with the full support of her mother, she turned pro (February 27, 2010).

While many girls are graduating from high school at the age of 18, and looking forward to college, at 18, “Diamante Cordero” was following her Dream in the sport of professional boxing.

Unlike the U.S., and many other countries, in Latin America many boxers are convinced or coerced into turning pro before the age of 18, with little to no amateur experience, hence converting these into journeymen fighters.

Dayana “Diamanté” Cordero was the “exception.” She was a “Diamond in the Rough.”
