Final Tribute:  Amanda Lyons

(AUG 28) WBAN was notified by Stacy Goodson last night that professional boxer, Amanda Lyons, just 20 years old, of Conway, Arkansas, was killed in a tragic vehicle accident on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at 1:30 a.m, in Conway.

Goodson told WBAN, "Amanda was a 20 year old who always wanted to fight at every local boxing show. Although she only had been fighting less than a year, she would always call asking when the next time she could fight.  After she fought Savanna Hill in her last fight on August 18th,  I told her I was going to get her an easy fight before her record started getting to lopsided.  She [Amanda] quickly said back no I want to fight somebody that can fight, even though she had been fighting less than a year.  Amanda was fight of the night every time she fought, so its safe to say she will be missed by all of us at the Slug Out Promotions and all the local boxing fans!"

The funeral will be held today, at 10:00 a.m. Services are at Roller McNutt Burial at Chestnut on Hwy 64.
