Results: Ward Stops Kerin
April 29, 2005

(APR 29) Tonight in Cleveland, Ohio, Vonda Ward, now 20-1-0 (17KO), TKO's Elizabeth Kerin, now 3-4-1 (3KO), in the second round. According to a ringside observer, Kerin knocked Ward down to the canvas in the first round, then in the second round, Ward hit Kerin with a couple of rights and the fight was stopped.

Alexander to fight Christy Martin?

(APR 29) WBAN has received insider info that Christy Martin, 44-3-2 (31KO), will be fighting Lana Alexander, 2-6-0, tomorrow night at the Isle of Capri Casino, in Lula, Mississippi.  Sounds like a "Tuna Bout" to WBAN.  Also on that card Cristy Nickel, will be fighting a rematch against Cassandra Lindsay in a six-rounder.

Olivas Wins Bout before heading to Iraq

(APR 29) Last night in Denver, Colorado, popular female fighter Elisha Olivas,  128, left all her fans with one quick memory before her deployment to Iraq early next month, she totally dismantled Dorene Hilton, 127. Stopping Hilton with hard combinations upstairs at 1:27 of the second when referee Stephen Blea waved it off. Olivas improves to 4-4-1 (2). Olivas received a standing ovation from a sell out crowd when it was announced that she would be deploying to Iraq.

Halmich named WBAN's May 2005 Fighter of the month!

(APR 27) Philippines fighter Madyda Kidsolan, 5-2-2,   will travel to Seoul, South Korea to meet IFBA Jr. Flyweight Champion Juhee Kim. Kidsolan, 18 years old has accepted the challenge for the belt after Maribel Zurita was injured in training.  Kidsolan is the first women from the Philippines to fight for a world title.  Full Story

(APR 14) WBAN contacted Team Sunshine to get the latest scoop on how Sunshine Fettkether is doing after having surgery.  Team Fettkether told WBAN, "She's doing great!  Her surgeon cleared her to take fights anytime after May 2, so we're looking.    She's also going to Culinary Arts school and she loves that too, so she's found a second passion.  We call her the Iron Chef."

Sanders to fight Holewyne

Women Boxer Dies After Knockout Punch

(APR 5) DENVER (CBS4) Denver police are investigating the death of a female boxer after she was knocked out in a fight Saturday night at the National Western Stock Show complex. Becky Zerlentes, 34, of Fort Collins, died Sunday afternoon, Denver County Coroner Howard Daniel said. Full Story
