(JUNE 18) Last night at the Smoothie King Center, in New Orleans, Louisiana, on the undercard, Ramla Ali, 122 lbs., from Greenwich, London, in the United Kingdom entering the ring as undefeated with a 8-0-0 (2KO) was stopped last night by a KO in the eighth round by Julissa Alejandra Guzman, 121, who goes by the ringname of “La Roguera” of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, in a scheduled ten-round bout. The two were fighting for the IBF Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title. Ali went down in the fifth round and then the eighth round of the bout.

Ali had come off an impressive win against previously undefeated Avril Mathie, handing Avril her loss in the ring when she defeated her by a ten-round unanimous decision, winning the IBF Inter-Continental Super Bantamweight title.

Julissa had fought for a WBC world title in February of 2021, losing to Yamileth Mercado by a ten-round unanimous decision. After that fight in 2021, she returned to the ring in May of 2023, winning by a first round TKO over Rosa Diaz Peralta, in a scheduled six-round bout.
