Rumble In Rainsville Boxing Event Features Female Bout on Card
by Sue TL Fox
August 25, 2020

(AUG 25)  On Saturday night on the "Rumble in Rainsville" Boxing event, at the Dekalb County Coliseum, in Fort Payne, Alabama, there was a female bout featured on the card.  There were 16 additional bouts on the card featuring men's boxing.

Middleweight Sonya Dreiling, remained undefeated in this fight, now 4-0-0 (2KO), of Fort Payne, Alabama, when she won the bout by a  four-round unanimous decision over Latasha Burton, now 4-14-0 (0KO), from Houma, Louisiana.

During the four-rounder, the two were throwing a lot of heavy leather, and at times, Burton looked like she may become another one of Dreilings KO opponents in this action-packed bout.
Dreiling was much quicker on her feet, with faster combinations, and  was the aggressor throughout most of the fight.   Burton appeared exhausted in the third round, when Dreiling threw countless punches at Burton with Burton just covering up during the barrage of combinations.

Sonya said after the fight, "I wanted to give a huge shout out and thank you to one amazing coach and my corner man CJ Burton. He has been a pleasure to work with not only tonight but my last fight as well. Thank you and Thank you again to Buck Courson for working my corner tonight last minute, it meant the world having you there."
