What looks good on paper---- doesn’t always equate to a good match up in Boxing!

(JULY 26) On Friday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino, in Indio, California, there was a female bout featured on the card with 28-year old Seniesa Estrada, who came into the fight with a undefeated record of 18-0-0 (8KO), and prior winner of the WBC Silver Light fly belt. She has fought as a professional since 2011.

Entrada’s opponent was 42-year old Miranda Adkins, 5-0-0 (5KO). On paper, Adkins had the five fights without a loss but when one actually sees who Adkins fought it was a different matter.

Adkins, first four opponents were pro debuters, and the fifth fight was against a 0-2 boxer, so in essence she had yet to fight one boxer who either had ever boxed and/or had a win on their record.

The bout between Estrada vs. Adkins was scheduled for eight rounds. The bout lasted a whole seven seconds, ending by KO in the first round.

The news of this seven-second bout spread like a wild fire---was was called by most a mismatch with many boxing journalists talking about the fight in online articles.

One highly respected boxing journalist from ESPN, Dan Rafael labelled the fight one of the worst mismatches he’s ever seen in his time covering the sport. Rafael wrote, “I’ve seen mismatches but that women’s fight was literally as bad as it gets. Estrada just brutally whacked out that poor woman in 7 seconds.”

One commentator said, “It was lamb versus lion, it is over in one of the quickest knockouts in women’s boxing history.”
