USA Boxing Announces First National Tournament of 2019 and 2020
Source:  Press Release
November 2, 2018

(NOV 2) In March 2019 and 2020, the USA Boxing Western Elite Qualifier & Regional Open Championships will head to the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno, Nevada.  The top U.S. amateur boxers will gather in ‘the biggest little city in the world’ on March 23-30 for the 2019 edition of the tournament, while the 2020 tournament will be held March 21-28.

“The Grand Sierra Resort is truly excited to welcome USA Boxing back to Reno to host their 2019 and 2020 Western Qualifier,” stated Bryan Gay, Senior Vice President of Sales of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino.

The city of Reno is no stranger to hosting USA Boxing events, having hosted numerous national tournaments over the years and has recently hosted the former Junior Open and Youth National Championships in January 2016.

“Choosing the Grand Sierra Resort to host this event took into account many factors, including geographic location, cost and host facility,” said Mike Campbell, USA Boxing Operations and Events Manager.

“The complex will offer many conveniences for our tournament staff and members who compete by being able to pay low room rates with all activities happening at the same location,” continued Campbell. “Throughout the tournament, all participants will be able to sleep, eat, train, weigh-in and compete without ever leaving the building!”

USA Boxing members will be able to start reserving rooms for the 2019 tournament at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino immediately by

Schedule
2019: March 23-30
2020: March 21-28
