(APR 29) Last night at the Shaw Conference Centre, Edmonton, Canada, in front of a sold-out crowd, Jelena Mrdjenovich, 126, had her 50th professional bout, winning by a unanimous decision against Stephanie Ducastel, 125.5, of France. Mrdjenovich retained her WBC featherweight world title.  This was a rematch for the two, when they first time fought on July 1, 2017, the two fought to a draw.

According to news sources, she controlled the bout from the start, and that she backed up Ducastel several times during the bout, with Mrdjenovich throwing a barrage of combinations that landed soundly. The final judges scores were 98-92, 99-91, and 99-91.

Many of the online news sources reported that Mrdjenovich left no doubt In her much anticipated rematch against Ducastel with a decisive and dominant 10-round unanimous decision victory.

The last time that Mrdjenovich fought in Canada was two years ago, and Mrdjenovich was excited to be able to have her landmark 50th bout in her country.

In the Edmonton Journal, they wrote the following:  Jelena Mrdjenovich has proven time and again throughout her illustrious career that you can never count her out, and when she has a chance at redemption, she gets it.

Mrdjenovich has fought as a professional since January 25, 2003.  She has fought the best in the sport and continues to be one of the best!   Another video on Mrdjenovich
