(APR 24) WBAN has published the latest news from the AIBA.   President Rahimov Gafur sent out this letter via the AIBA monthly newsletter.  He talks about his optimism about the future of boxing, and wanted to give an update to all.  His Letter:

Dear boxers and friends,

It is with great pride and privilege that I address you as the President of AIBA.

While these past few months have been challenging for our sport, I remain strongly optimistic about our future. We have entered into a new era for Olympic Boxing, one aimed at creating a more prosperous organisation that will benefit all of our stakeholders.

Through this monthly newsletter, I hope to provide the entire boxing community with updates and insights on our progress. Already, your new AIBA Executive Committee has been working hard to bring positive changes, especially in the development of new policies with regards to governance, organisational ethics and diversity.

My priority is to ensure that the boxing community is also part of the process and that your voice is being heard. We are a family and together, we are forging a new AIBA, one that nurtures and grows boxing across the globe. It is now, more than ever, the time for AIBA to show the world that we are united. The work for making AIBA stronger has now begun. Together, we win.

Last but not least, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our boxers on their achievements at the recent 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. Looking forward, I would like to wish good luck to all of our boxers competing in the Youth Women’s & Men’s Continental Championships.

Should you have any insights or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email at interimpresidentoffice@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Gafur Rahimov, President of AIBA
