Amanda Serrano Successfully Defends her WBO title and adds the WBC Diamond and WBAN Belt to her Arsenal
by Sue TL Fox
January 15, 2017

(JAN 15) Last night at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York, Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano won a 10-round unanimous decision against Yazmin Rivas where she was defending her  Junior Featherweight WBO world title, in addition for the WBC Diamond belt, and the WBAN Independent belt.  The Judges scored 97-93, 98-92, 99-91 for Serrano.

AMANDA ALSO RECEIVED THE BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND WBC BELT

This fight between Rivas and Serrano was a major breakthrough for female boxing, having it televised on Showtime Extreme. Boxing fans got a real treat seeing these top female boxers battling for these world title belts.

WBAN would like to thank our IWBHF Executive Director, Eddie Montalvo for attending the event and presenting the WBAN belt to our winner.

The boxing card was jointly promoted by Mayweather Promotions and DiBella Entertainment.

This is such a great start for the sport for 2017!
