Tomorrow Night: "The Real Deal" Amanda Serrano Featured in Co-Main on Brooklyn Card
November 19, 2015

(NOV 19)  For boxing fans in the local area, tomorrow night don't miss Amanda "The Real Deal"  Serrano, 25-1-1 (18 KO), of Brooklyn, who will be featured in a scheduled eight round bout, in the co-main at the Aviator, in Brooklyn, New York, and promoted by Di Bella Promotions.

Serrano, one of the top female boxers in the sport, will be fighting Djemilla Gontaruk, 9-2-0 (1KO), of Charleroi, Hainaut, Belgium, in this eight-rounder.

More information on the card/Dibella Promotion website:

DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing returns to the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, NY, for the latest installment of the popular and long-running series. Headlining the card will be undefeated prospects Chris Galeano (9-0, 1KO) and Shawn Cameron (10-0, 5KO’s) as the two square off in a 10-round battle for NYC bragging rights and with the New York State middleweight title on the line.

“Fighting for the NYS title is truly a blessing and a tremendous opportunity. I am going to take advantage of this stepping stone and plan on putting on a spectacular performance come November 20th. I am excited to see the smile on my father’s face when we win our first title together and take a major step in moving on to much bigger and better things in my career,” said Galeano.

“This is a great fight, especially that it is taking place right here in New York. You have two local, undefeated kids on the rise, pushing their limits to get to that next level. Come November 20th, I will be ready for whatever Chris Galeano brings to the ring,” said Cameron.
“This Broadway Boxing main event is a throwback to when New York club show boxing was in its heyday. You have two undefeated prospects, both former New York Golden Gloves champions, from different boroughs, that are now meeting in hands-down the toughest fight of either of their young professional careers. The winner will not only claim New York bragging rights but also cement himself as someone to watch in the coming years in the middleweight division,” said promoter Lou DiBella.

Hailing from Bronx, Galeano won nearly every major amateur competition, including the New York Golden Gloves and USA National Championships at 165 pounds in 2013, which propelled him to a #1 ranking in the US. Co-promoted by rap star and actor 50 Cent, the 22-year-old Galeano is already 4-0 this year and will be looking to shine when he takes on his cross-borough rival Cameron.
A 2007 Golden Gloves champion, Cameron first began boxing while enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he did two tours in Iraq. Cameron turned pro in 2012, juggling his time between being a fulltime New York City Transit Authority Policeman and his boxing training. The Brooklynite caught the eye of DiBella earlier this year and quickly joined the DBE roster in January, reeling off three consecutive victories over the next six months. At 32 years old, Cameron is 10 years older than Galeano and is looking to quickly move up the ranks of the 160lb. division. A win over the former amateur standout will force the middleweight division to take notice.
