(NOV 4) WBAN would like to give a
proper introduction to Valentina "The Bullet" Shevchenko, 5'5", born in 1988,
and weighs in at about 135 lbs. Valentina is a multi-world
champion in Muay Thai and has been competing since about 2004 -
2005.
Valentina is currently 1-0-0 as a pro boxer,
and not ranked with BoxRec, nor WBAN as a professional boxer.
Valentina absolutely lives up to
her ring name---she is fast, aggressive, shows obvious talent
and showmanship as a fighter.
But with that said....the question is: should this
new boxer in the sport be fighting for a world title or any
title this early in the game? Answer: Absolutely unequivocally
not.
Boxing fans will be quickly indoctrinated with this new
boxer on the scene, when she jumps ranks (literally) of top
contenders in the sport to take on multi-world champion, Ann-Marie Saccurato on
December 9, 2011, in Lima, Peru. She and Saccurato will be
fighting 10 rounds, for the WIBA Lightweight world title.
WBAN found the video of
her first pro fight as a boxer where she took on a mediocre
opponent in a 10 rounder. Valentina won the fight by a
unanimous decision.
We posted the video of Valentina displaying both her natural
aggression and talent as a Muay Thai boxer, and then her pro
debut as a boxer that took place in 2010.
This upcoming title bout appears to be a lose-lose situation.
If Saccurato beats Valentina, it looks to be a mismatch. If Saccurato loses to
Valentina---her boxing career and reputation as a top contender
boxer will more than likely be in ruins.
