Quick Results! Hernandez Wins By Unanimous Decision over Cisneros
AUGUST 14 , 2010

(AUG 14) Tonight at the Santa Ana Star Casino, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, Melissa "Huracan" Hernandez, 132,  won an eight-round unanimous decision over Victoria "La Reina de Guerra" Cisneros, 133. The two fought for the WIBA [International] Lightweight Title. The fight was a non-stop action exchange between the two.  Final judges scores were 79-73, 80-72, and 80-72.

WBAN got an opportunity to speak briefly with Hernandez, and she said after the fight that she knew the fight was going to be a great fight and that Cisneros was one of her hardest fights. Cisneros who is the larger fighter, stayed toe-to-toe with Hernandez throughout the fight, and there were no knockdowns.

In the other women's bout between Thaddine Swift Eagle Johnson, 128,  and Nancy Bonilla, 127½.  Thaddine defeated Bonilla with an eight round unanimous decision, and they were fighting for a multitude of  Intercontinental and international featherweight belts in an eight rounder. According to boxrec - the WIBA [International], GBU, WIBC, WIBU, and WPBA (have not heard of that one).   Final judges scores were all 80-70.

Team Johnson told WBAN, "Even being dehydrated from having to lose three pounds overnight due to a faulty scale that Thaddine about a week before the fight and lack of sleep from driving back and fourth from Durango, Co. to Albuquerque taking care of her mother who is wheelchair bound. She managed to knock down Nancy Bonilla down in the 5th round. Nancy's manager said the his boxer was set to fight at a heavier weight against someone else but that bout fell through. After fight the fight, Thaddine found out she was coming down with Pneumonia."
