(AUG 7) On the “Perseverance” card,
August 28, 2009, at the Wilson Complex at the New Mexico Highlands
University in Las Vegas, NM, featuring Holly Holm vs. Terri Blair II
as the main event, four-time National Champion Amanda Crespin will
be making her pro debut on the card.
Crespin got her start in boxing at 8 years old after watching her
brothers Arturo and Carlos Crespin in the gym with their father
learning how to box. One day she overheard her father talking about
the Junior Olympics being held in their hometown of Las Vegas, NM.
Amanda told her father she wanted
to box, she said the first impression on his face was, "is this
girl kidding me?!" “He said really?” Amanda replied yes! Her
mother Elizabeth Crespin was not very happy with her daughter’s
interest in the sport, but has been very supportive since her
first fight. The West Las Vegas HS graduate has left the amateur
ranks with an impressive record of 73-13 and 4 national titles
as well as a #2 National ranking.
Amanda is scheduled to fight
Shannon Sangre of Los Lunas, NM who debuts as well.
Aside from boxing Amanda
currently works full time for the City of Las Vegas in Mayor
Tony E. Marquez office. This fall Amanda will be attending New
Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM pursuing a career as a
traveling RN. For a recent interview on Amanda and up to date
