(DEC 22) Ms. Kallen, With all due
respect, you were not at the fight, you didn't see the fight (and as
far as I know you haven't seen a video of the fight) so you don't
know what the crowds, TV announcers or fighters reaction were. So
you are in no position to say what did or did not happen there. To
say I did nothing is untrue, and unfair. [Open
Letter by Jackie Kallen]
I cannot overrule a decision, the local commission can only do that.
I got Adler's team to agree to an immediate rematch. I will NOT
strip Adler and give the title back to Garside and put my
sanctioning body in legal jeopardy over a bad decision. I wont do
it. Ms Kallen, you will NOT bully me into doing someone I do not
want to do, which is to strip Adler, no matter how hard to try to
smear my name.
And by the way, Adler's people did NOT want to rematch Garside, I am
making them rematch Garside. If Adler were to refuse a rematch, then
I would take steps to strip Adler and arrange a fight for the
vacated title.
Also, you would not have known about the scoring had I not told
Jeannine about this after the fight. The judges have the
discretion to score rounds how they see fit. With
that said, I did NOT agree with their scoring. it was clearly a 10-8
round, but a judge chose to score it 10-9 because Adler was winning
the round up until the knockdown. I didn't agree with that call, but
its their discretion.
2 of the 3 judges and the referee were from outside of Bosnia. when
Jeannine got robbed in South Korea. There were all 3 judges and ref
from South Korea, but I don't hear you crying about that fight!
Holyfield got robbed in his fight with Valuev. Do you hear Holyfield
demanding the WBA overturn the decision? They CAN'T do that. All
they can do is order a rematch with different judges, which is what
they and I have done.
You claim that all I care about is a sanction fee, if it was all
just about earning a sanction fee, I would've stripped Garside for
not defending her WIBA title in 2 years, and for losing two fights
in a row for another organizations belt. I didn't do that because I
gave her the benefit of the doubt.
I could've easily stripped her and given a vacant title shot to
another fighter.
I agree that this was a bad decision, but if I took it upon myself
to not recognize every decision that I don't agree with, I would be
sued and put out of business like the WBC almost was. Again, I will
not put myself or my company in jeopardy over a bad decision. If you
decide not to accept a rematch with different judges, that is your
choice.
