(JUNE 23) On June 21, 2008, at the
Chrysler Halle, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, Elina Tissen
(ranked #27 on Boxrec), won the "Global Boxing Council" (GBC)
featherweight title against Elena Dima, now 0-3-0, (ranked #75
on Boxrec). Tissen TKO’d the winless boxer in the fourth round
of a scheduled 10 rounder.
One boxing fan wrote into WBAN and said, “I checked the GBC website,
to see if they had an advertisement saying, “Order your world title
here”, or words to that effect. The website didn’t have one, but
they might as well. It's a complete joke.”
On Insidewomensboxing.com they reported, “In Nordrhein-Westfalen,
Germany, featherweight Elina Tissen (7-2, 4 KOs) TKO’d
overmatched Elena Dima (0-3) in the fourth round of a ten-round
fight. The GBC sanctioned the mismatch for one of their
belts.”
