Final Tribute to Asia Mays

It is with great sadness to tell the boxing community and all that 24-year old Asia Kim Mays, a professional boxer, has died on August 8th.   Asia lived in Denver, Colorado at the time, and WBAN is in the process of contacting her friends and anyone who knew her to contribute information so that we can have a tribute page on WBAN.

Mays passed away unexpectedly at her residence on August 8, 2007 in Colorado Springs. She was born September 3, 1982 in Fayetteville North Carolina to the union of Norman and Kim (Punson) Mays. She enjoyed boxing, fitness competition, aerobics and traveling. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son William Mays and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm, Monday August 13, 2007 at Angelus Funeral Directors 2535 Airport Rd. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday August 14, at Angelus Funeral Directors. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Published in The Gazette on 8/11/2007.  Anyone who would like to send a condolence to WBAN to Asia and her friends and family,

Tributes to Asia:

My condolences to the family and friends on your loved on. I had the honor of rendering military honors at the funeral and I just wanted to say, may God be with you and comfort you in your time of loss.  A1C Sellers of Colorado Springs

I never met Asia Mays, but I heard of her.God is with her now and all prayers will carry on for family and loved ones. She was a woman that stood by,encourage herself to be a good athlete,a woman...strength under control.Courage on the inside, not the outside.May God Bless the family and loved ones.In Christ, Brenda Bell Drexel "Tiger Lady" USA '07

You will be missed. Thanks for fighting on our shows. Steve Mestas
