(JULY 28) WBAN has been notified that the Christy Martin   - Jane Couch  fight is off.  We received documented notification, via insiders, that the promoter, has cancelled the fight between Martin and Couch for the WBC 140-lb title.  The two were supposed to fight on November 3, 2007 in Monaco.

Martin said, "I am looking for a big name fight to end this year. Laila is taking time off, so I feel that the best fight that can be made is Martin vs. Mary Jo Sanders. Mary Jo, we can fight at 147, 154 or 160 you can pick the weight. You didn't fight me when we were both in the low 140's, you wouldn't fight me at 147,  so how about picking the weight you want and lets get it done. I know that you can't fear a blown up lightweight or do you?"

Team Martin put everything on hold to focus on the Jane Couch fight, and expressed frustration over the cancellation of this fight.
