(JULY 24) In a fight that has a high
likelihood of being a barn-burner, former world IBA world champion
Ada "The Ace" Velez, 14-2-2 (6 KOs), of Hollywood, Florida,
will be fighting Jeri Sitzes, 12-6-1 (5 KOs), of Sprngfield,
in a six-rounder bout on ESPN2 on August 10th, at the Springfield
Expo Center, Springfield, Missouri. It is unknown at this time
if the fight will be televised, but we have been told that they are
going to be a swing bout, which makes it possible depending on how
the other bouts go that night.
36-year old Velez is returning to the ring, after her last fight in
January of 2004, where she fought local boxer Anita Christensen in
Denmark.
Sitzes' last bout was against Lisa Lewis, in April of this year,
where she defeated Lewis by a six-round unanimous decision.
The two will be fighting in at 126 lbs.
