(JULY 8) Last night at the Joe Bruno Stadium, in Troy, New York, and promoted by Pugnacious Promotions, Melissa Fiorentino, of Cranston, Rhode Island, now 16-1-0 (6 KO),
won an eight round unanimous decision over Cindy Serrano, of Queens, New York, now 15-1-1 (7 KO), and became NABF’s first super featherweight world champion. The final judges’ scores were 79-73 on all cards.

According to an insider, the fight was an exciting bout with both displaying excellent boxing skills. During the fight, Serrano apparently suffered a substantial gash under her eye that required over 20 stitches.
