(APR 8) Yesterday,
WBAN received a couple of frantic
emails from Ria Ramnarine in regards to being stuck at the
London Airport, and reached out to WBAN to contact Team Belinszky.
Ramnarine was set to fight Krisztina Belinszky in Hungary.
As the ole' saying goes, "there are always two sides to every
story."
Now WBAN is being contacted by the WIBC, Moose Lewis, and
JollyDee of Hungary who is in connection with Team Belinszky.
Moose Lewis said told WBAN, "I am in
Hungary and have been since Thursday afternoon. Everything is
good here. I have been speaking with Team Ramnarine since I
arrived. The truth is that they have been in London staying
with friends. They have MISSED 4 flights, and cannot use the
ticket. Team Belinszky purchased additional tickets yesterday
at a cost of over 1,000 British pounds for more tickets to get
them here this morning. Team Ramnarine did not even get out of
bed to go to the airport. The tickets were even in business
class for them. I will be faxing you receipts of everything
upon my return to the United States. I can only say that I
have the telephone calls on the cell phone showing both myself
and Team Belinszky have been in touch with them on a regular
basis."
According to Moose, the Hungarian Boxing Commission is not
pleased with all that has happened, and there may be
repercussions for Ramnarine as Moose has indicated he will be
asking them to suspend her for these actions.
Belinszky in the meantime will be
fighting a late replacement. WBAN has requested any and all
documents concerning this issue.
