Doors for this event will open at 8pm with the first bout at 9pm. |
Anani, the first women to defeat boxing legend Christy Martin in
1999, has nothing but respect for Blair and her toughness inside and
outside the ring. “She’s fought plenty of highly ranked, protected
girls in their hometown and has gone the
distance with them. She’s got more guts and heart than paper
champions like Holly Holm and Mary Jo Sanders.”
Continued Anani, “Both Holm and Sanders have ducked me on numerous
occasions, Terri was willing and is always game to fight, we’re
going to put on a terrific show on Saturday night. Terri’s earned
the name “The Road Warrior” and I have nothing but respect for her.”
Said Pesoli of the main event,” These are two very highly skilled,
tough women, Sumya’s been trying to get the other big names in the
ring for a number of years but it’s
been hard when people know she beat Christy Martin. Terri’s not
afraid of anything and this should be an outstanding boxing match.”
The undercard features undefeated prospects middleweight Michael
Walker of Gary, Indiana, lightweight Mike Gonzalez of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin and The son of a legend, middleweight Aaron Pryor Jr.
Added Pesoli, “It’s a great opportunity for fight fans in the
Louisville, Cincinnati and Southern Indiana area to see a world
championship bout and three rising prospects. Fans who came for our
first show in December were thrilled by the
event, especially the David Diaz/Ramazan Palyani main event. I
anticipate an even greater level of excitement for this show.”
The entire fight card is as follows:
Sumya Anani vs. Terri Blair, ten rounds, junior welters.
IBA Women's World Title Fight
Michael Walker vs. Manny Castillo, eight rounds, middleweights
Mike Gonzalez vs. Joseph Pujoe, six rounds, lightweights
Aaron Pryor Jr. vs. Tyrone Downey, four rounds, middleweights.
