Follmar Retires from Boxing

(SEPT 14) Yesterday, WBAN received notice that Kristy Rose Follmar has decided to hang up the gloves.  She wrote the following:

"After months of serious consideration about the direction of my life, I have decided to walk away from boxing. For almost 6 years, I was blessed with opportunities and accomplished things I never imagined I would do. However, there are factors in my life now that have become unbalanced due to the extremely demanding lifestyle of professional boxing.

I have chosen to channel my energy into my career with Pathway Productions, as well as embark on new (and less hazardous!) adventures. I wanted to thank the people who shaped this career, for everything you have done for me along the journey.

I feel blessed to have been associated with the amazing people who led me down the right path and have taken such good care of me over the years. One of the greatest things I can take with me from all of this, are the friendships with the people who made it all happen. Additionally, I wanted to thank everyone from the media for following and documenting so many events, which have created memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks for being so good to me.

Although I will truly miss so many aspects associated with this boxing career, I know in my heart I have made the right decision.
Thank you,  Kristina Rose"
