Kelsey Jeffries Featured on HP Pavilion

(JULY 13) Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank returns to HP Pavilion and with it returns the same hard-hitting action that Bay Area boxing fans have come to enjoy. The action is scheduled for Thursday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. The following is a press release on this event:

Featured in the evening’s 10 round main event will be Fernando Beltran Jr. (25-1-1, 17 KO’s) of Culiacan, Mexico who will take on Ramon Leyte (14-7, 9 KO’s) of Mexico City, Mexico. Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank fan favorite Kelsey Jeffries (32-8, 2 KO’s) of Gilroy, Calif. returns to HP Pavilion to fight Leona Brown (13-15, 5 KO’s) of Buffalo, New York in a six round semi-main event.

The other semi-main event will feature Said Zavalete (4-0, 2 KO’s) of Mexico City, Mexico who will face Arturo Quintero (14-2, 9 KO’s) of Las Vegas, Nevada in a six round Lightweight bout. New to the scene will be hard hitting Mike Hull (0-0) and Sean Duggan (0-0) who will each be making their professional fighting debut in a four round bout. Getting the evening kicked off will be San Jose’s own Renee Aguaristi (1-0, 1 KO) who’ll be taking on Teron Scott (0-0) in a four round Light Middleweight bout. Fighters are subject to change.

Individual tickets to Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank are on sale now at the HP Pavilion Ticket Office, Ticketmaster Ticket Centers located in Wherehouse Music stores, Tower Records and Ritmo Latino locations throughout the Bay Area, online at ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at (408) 998-TIXS, (415) 421-TIXS or (510) 625-TIXS. Special Guest:

On hand to check out the hard-hitting action will be special guest, boxing legend Lou Duva. Known to many as the "Raging Bulldog," Duva is most famous for his work in the corner of 15 world champions including Hall-of-Famer Joey Giardello, Johnny Bumphus, Rocky Lockridge, Bobby Czyz, Livingston Bramble, Vinny Pazienza, Mark Breland, John-John Molina, Meldrick Taylor, Darrin Van Horn, Michael Moorer, Eddie Hopson and future Hall of Famers Mike McCallum, Evander Holyfield and Pernell Whitaker. Duva emerged to the forefront of the boxing world by signing five members of the 1984 U.S. Olympic team -- Taylor, Whitaker, Breland, Holyfield and Tyrell Biggs.

The weigh-in Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank event will take place on Wednesday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bamboo Lounge at the Clarion Hotel San Jose Airport. Here is the address:

Schedule Change:

The Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank event originally scheduled for Thursday, September 15 has been postponed one day and will now be held on Friday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m.
