World Class Professional Boxing- The Riot - July 2nd!
June 30, 2005
 
 
(JUN 30) Starting at 5pm Saturday July 2nd, several hundred tickets will be available to boxing fans for purchase at the Conference Center in Downtown Monterey. This new venue for THE RIOT provides additional seating, and for the first time, after 10 straight years of sellouts at the Hyatt in Monterey, tickets will be on sale at the door...until they are gone.

The heavyweight main event and female semi-main match undefeated fighters. George Garcia (7-0 formerly of Salinas) is the son of a legendary local fighter Georgie "The Hammer" Garcia, against Eddie Neal (5-0 Fresno) whose brother Lorenzo is a veteran running for the San Diego Chargers of the NFL. Female Flyweights Carina Moreno (7-0 Watsonville), is challenged by Julie Rubalcava (4-0 Garden Grove) for the State Championship.

Four other bouts include two other unbeaten fighters. Featherweight Joel Santiago (4-0 Las Vegas) and welter Enrique Gutierrez (3-0 Santa Rosa) a 6-time San Francisco Golden Gloves Champion.

The weigh-in for all 12 fighters begins at 5pm Friday July 1st at Travelodge Hotel at 2030 N. Fremont St. in Monterey.
