Flash From the Past in 2005:  Manager of Team Dunaway responds to WBAN

By Sue TL Fox
June 22, 2005

(JUN 22)  On June 21, WBAN wrote a short article about the bout between WIBA world champion Hollie "Hot Stuff" Dunaway fighting a pro debuter.  I also mentioned the fact that there was another bout that occurred on June 3, 2005, when the WIBU World Champion Krisztina Belinszky, 14-4-2 (9KO), of Hungary, fought Pro debuter Erzsébet Budai and stopped her by TKO in the third round.

These are FACTS, no more...no less,  that occurred in June 2005 between two world champions who fought boxers who had never had a pro fight.

Apparently Team Dunaway took exception to WBAN pointing out another World Champion vs. Pro Debuter article,  and they expressed concerns that WBAN should go search them up and find out why in the world their boxer would fight in such a matchup.

FACT #1: Dunaway, who is a World Champion fought a sanctioned match against someone who has never gone into the ring.  FACT #2:  Belinszky, a World Champion, fought a person who had never fought before---What in the world is there to talk about? Mismatches, are what they are--mismatches.

WBAN has received a request from Stacey Goodson, Hollie Dunaway's manager to print his response to this article, dated June 21. Goodson wrote the following:
(It is verbatim by Stacey Goodson
)

Yes you should have been there!!!

Hi I am the Manager of "Hot Stuff" Hollie Dunaway.
I am making a reply on todays WBAN article on Hollie Dunaway. Yes Hollie fought a debuter , just like Sarah Goodson did the same night. The fact is the promoter lost money anyway and he only paid the girl $400 for a 4 rounder. In this fight Hollie was not trying to prove anything. She just wanted to fight at Home. And this was her first fight at home since she won the Title against Terry Moss.But to say things like Hollie should have fought a more creditable opponent is a opinion of one person. Is that person saying that Hollie should only fight other world champions? Or should she just not fight at Home because the local promoter cant afford to pay the 2 or 3 grand it was gonna cost to get for Smo Reed(3-1) from Topeka KS. The fact is that Team "HOT STUFF" Tried very hard to get another opponent with a good record. But we could not find anyone to take the fight.  So to all concerned if you think Hollie should fight a tougher girl for our local shows, I mean if it is that important to you, Then contact me to make the donations for the next show I will give it to the local promoter. He will be happy to help you out. If your not having a good time in this sport than you should get out of it. But Anna and Hollie are having fun they both had a great time. And now they are good friends.
