Tonya Harding’s Hearing Set for September 1st!
By Sue TL Fox
August 19, 2004

(AUG 19) The Tonya Harding Team is not backing down from a protest that they presented to the Edmonton Boxing and Wrestling Commission (EBWC), after the fight between Amy Johnson and Harding on June 26, 2004, that took place at the Shaw Conference Centre, in Edmonton, Canada. video footage of some of the protest issues

WBAN spoke with Harding’s manager, Paul Brown, who said that their hearing is set for September 1st, and that they are pursuing this to the end.

Brown had given WBAN a video tape of the Johnson-Harding fight a couple of weeks ago, and even though, WBAN was slightly skeptical before viewing the tape, AFTER viewing the tape, it was clearly evident that the allegations made by Team Harding were certainly valid.

Beside the fact that the
should have ended in a second round TKO for Harding the winner, it was truly bewildering that the referee of the Harding-Johnson fight, did not honor the fact that Johnson waved her hands to quit (similarly to how refs wave their hands when they stop a fight), and taking her own mouth piece out of her mouth wanting "no mas".  To add insult to injury, it appears that the ref did not seem to pay attention to the fact that Johnson was smearing and (lacing) her gloves in Harding’s face.

There are other rules violations that are being presented in this protest.
