Featherweight Amanda Serrano, 125,  of New York, USA won a four-rounder by TKO (35 seconds) in first round over Carolina Martinez, 124.  In another bout,
Super flyweight Grecia Nova, 115, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Marisol Reyes, 115. The two were fighting for a Dominican Republic super flyweight title.  Also, super featherweight Dahianna Santana, 129,  won by TKO in the second round scheduled for four rounds over Diane Garcia, 127.   [Logged into master search]

Junior featherweight Elina Tissen, 122¼, won a four-rounder by points over pro debuter Alexandra Chirila, 120, of Romania. Final score was 40-36. In another four-rounder, Nicole Haustein, 125¼, won by TKO in the fourth round over Elena Dima, 129. The fight was scheduled for four rounds. Also, Kira Schnuerer, 126¾, won by KO in the first round over pro debuter Juliana Roibu, 127¾, of Romania. Flyweight Raja Amasheh KO'd pro debuter Ramona Panait, 110¼, in the first round of a scheduled four-rounder. Lastly, Janina Bentz won a four-rounder by points over Ancuta Suvac, 112½, of Romania.

Tammie Johnson, 133½,  returned to Chicago to avenge her draw to Rita Figueroa, 136, from last March. In an eight-round round majority decision Johnson defeated the previously unbeaten Figueroa (10-1-1), Score: 76-76, 78-74, 78-74.

There were six bouts on the card. In the main event, Nanako Kikuchi, 107½, defeated Kayoko Ebata, 108, both from Japan, with a action-packed 10-round unanimous decision. The two were fighting for the OPBF women's light flyweight title. This was reported to be the first-time OPBF title bout in Japan. Final judges scores were 97-94, 97-94, and 96-94. (sixth bout).  In other boxing action, the night began with Noriko Ishikawa, 112, who won by a third round TKO (1:09), over Harue Kinoshita, in a scheduled four-round bout. Second bout, Mari Inamoto,118, won by a four-round majority decision over Kai Johnson, 117. Final judges scores were 37-39, 37-39, 38-38.  Third bout, Mami Ito, 105, TKO'd Yumi Katayama, 105, in the first round (1:51) of a scheduled four-round bout.  Fourth bout, Naoko Shibata, 103, won a four-round majority decision over Yuko Kuroki, 103. Final judges scores 39-37, 38-37, 38-38.  Fifth bout, Naoko Yamaguchi, 112, TKO'd (1:40) of the second round over Miki Kikukawa,112. The bout was scheduled for six rounds.

Feathweight Capucine Pauchet, of Var, France, won her second pro bout against Simona Pencakova, when Pencakova retired in the first round of a four-round bout.  According to news sources, Pauchet is now being trained by Myriam Lamare.

, 117.8, dominated the four-round bout, and won by a unanimous decision over Amanda Ayotte, 118.2. Scores were 40-36 on all cards.

Bantamweight Yanina Natalia Acuna won a six-round bout by unanimous decision over Veronica Orecchia.

June 20, 2009 - Club Deportivo LibertadSunchales, in Santa Fe, Argentina
Yesica Bopp
, 107, ended the fight early when she stopped Paulina Cardona, 107¾,  in the second round  (1:12) of a scheduled 10-round bout for the WBA junior flyweight title. In the local news reports they said the following: "Bopp went onto the attack from the opening bell, closing down the challenger and unloading powerful volleys directed for the most part at the head of her opponent. Cardona, taller and with long arms, was unable to halt the ferocious advance of the Argentinian. In the second round, Bopp came out intent on finishing it, exhibiting unusual speed and precision. With Cardona cornered and 'la Tuti' poised to take her out, the referee, Pérez Pineda, exercising good judgment, halted the action."

Heavyweight Bridget Ten Bears, 200¾, won by TKO(1:44) in the first round over Adriane Two Hearts, 207¾. The fight was scheduled for four rounds.

June 20, 2009 -  Coliseo Dibos Dammert, in Lima, Peru
Kina Malpartida
did not disappoint local fans when she stopped Halana Dos Santos in the seventh round of a scheduled 10-round bout. Malpartida was defending her WBA super featherweight title. After the fight Malpartida said, "I dedicate this triumph to the very poorest, to those who struggle, to all of Peru and to my father." According to news sources Malpartida will be defending her WBA title in Peru again in three months.

Flyweight Amy Berezowski, 107, won a four-round unanimous decision over Ji-Sook Kim, 107¼. Final judges scores were 39-38, 39-38, and 39-38. In another women's bout, junior flyweight Eun Young Huh, 105¾, won a six-round unanimous decision over Ga-Young Yoon, 105½. Final judges scores were 58-56, 59-56, 60-58.

Super featherweight Ramona Kuehne, 129½, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Galina Gumliiska, 129¾. Kuehne was defending her WIBF super featherweight title.

Junior welterweight Monica Acosta, 138½, won a 10-round unanimous decision Darys Pardo, 139¾.  The were fighting for the vacant junior welterweight title.  Final judges scores were 98-92, 98-92, 96-89. Pardo controlled the early rounds - Acosta took a while to warm up - but before long the Colombian began to run out of steam and paid the price. "Acosta took the reins in the fourth and began to punish her opponent, with the punishment increasing in severity as round followed round."  They were topping the bill and drew a big crowd.

June 18, 2009 - Palacio Peñarol, in Montevideo, Uruguay
There were two women's bouts on the card. On the undercard, lightweight Cecilia Comunales made it a short night with a highly mismatched opponent, over the Brazilian Lorena De Mello, when Mello closed her eyes and turned her back the first time she was hit in the face. Mello was stopped by TKO in the first round. In a post fight interview, Comunales said, "She was useless, All those hours of training wasted! But the people I felt the most sorry for were the spectators."  In a more exciting women's bout on the card, Argentian junior bantamweight Marisa Portillo put up more of a fight against Adriana Herrera.  Santiago Balbis of El Telegrafo reports that: "Adriana Herrera put behind her the nightmare drubbing she suffered in Mendoza at the hands of Yèsica Marcos when she moved up two categories in weight to contest the South American Super Bantamweight title, and showed that her courage and will to win remain intact. It took her a while last night to find the range but once she did, she went from strength to strength, winning in the end by a comfortable margin on the scorecards (60-57, 60-57, 59-56)."

 Ana Maria Torres
retained her super flyweight title over Thailand's Usanakorn Kokietgym in ten rounds of boxing. The final judges scores were 95-94, 98-92, 96-94. According to Notifight.com, The Thai girl started well, making good use of her advantages of height and reach and, above all, her southpaw stance to take control of the fight in the early rounds. But little by little Ana María took the measure of her awkward opponent, landing her best punches in the second half of the fight to obtain a unanimous decision, though certainly a close one, in her favour."  In a second women's bout on the undercard, Melinda Cooper, of Las Vegas, Nevada, won by a four-round unanimous decision. She fell short of KO'ing her opponent Miriam Avila in the third round as she had predicted at the weigh-in. The final judges scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37.

According to Michael Campbell, Mendez was too strong, and got inside of Kasha in the entire fight. In a second women's bouts, welterweights Tiffany Junot (5-2, 3 KOs) of New Orleans, LA won over Kita Watkins (3-4, 1 KO) of Camden, AR, by unanimous Decision with scores of 39-36 by Naquin, 39-36 by Boudreaux, and 40-36 by Dayton. Referee was Kenny Licata. Campbell reported, "This was a VERY exciting fight, both often traded toe to toe.. June 6, 2009 -Cowichan Arena, Duncan, British Columbia, Canada
Border City Boxing Club's Jeannine "Heartless" Garside, 126,  returned to her hometown of Duncan, BC on June 6th to fight for the WBC International Featherweight Championship. Garside became the new WBC Featherweight Champion by defeating Brooklyn's Dominga Olivo, 125, by unanimous decision. Jeannine suffered a second round headbutt that opened a cut over her left eye that later required stitches. Quick thinking and experience on the part of her countermen J.R. Larkin and Josh Canty made the ten round bout continue without any interference from the gash over her eye. This was the first time a boxing event of this status has been held on Vancouver Island and the crowd loved the fact that the main event was one of their own.
