September 28, 2008 - Hanam City, in South Korea
Ji-Hye Woo, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Jeannine Garside, of Canada.  Woo was defending her IFBA Jr. Lightweight title for the fourth time. Final judges scores were 97-93, 96-94, and 97-94.

September 27, 3008 -  “Battle for Distribution card”, at the Paris Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada -Hollie “Hot Stuff” Dunaway, 107, and  Sharon Gaines, 112, fought to a six-round draw. 

September 27, 2008 -  Mexico City, Mexico
Mariana Juarez, 111½, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Suszannah Warner, 111.  The two were fighting for the WBC International Flyweight title.

September 27, 2008 - York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, United Kingdom - (Boxer fighting under false name?)
Flyweight Shanee Martin, won by TKO in the first round over a boxer using the name of  Elena Miftode. The only problem is, is "Miftode" was actually fighting in Germany the same night.  We believe we have now identified the real boxer who fought Martin, who is Roxana Tenea, 0-4-0.  If we ARE incorrect in this information, please feel free to contact WBAN with the correct information.  The fight was scheduled for six rounds.

Super bantamweight Natalia del Pilar Burg, 117¼, won a four-round majority decision over Carolina Raquel Duer, 119½.

September 27, 2008 -  at the Powerade Centre, in Ontario, Canada
In the main event,  Sandy “Lil Tyson” Tsagouris, 125, of Toronto, Canada, won by a fourth round TKO over Maria Jose Nunez, 122.5, of Paraguay. The two were fighting for the vacant NABA Featherweight championship. The fight is scheduled for eight rounds.  In the second women’s bout,
Priscilla Trompowsky, 128, won a four-round unanimous decision over Bernadette Hume, 127. [Logged into master search]

Yésica Yolanda Bopp (‘La Tuti’) of Wilde (Argentina) (48kg)
TKO'd Francia Helena Bravo (‘La Estilista’) of Córdoba (Colombia) (48.75kg), 0:38 seconds of the fourth round, of a scheduled eight round bout. The two were fighting for the junior flyweight WBC Latin-American (Notifight) and/or WBO Interim (DyN) title(s). 

September 25, 2008 - Sycuan Resort & Casino, in El Cajon, California
Lightweight Chika Nakamura, 135, defeated Tammy Franks, 135, by a sixth round TKO. The fight was scheduled for six rounds.   [Logged into master search]

September 20, 2008 - Cox Convention Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Junior Flyweight Gina Abel, 108, of Chickasha, Oklahoma,  won by a second round RTD, over Angel James, now 1-1-0, of Shawnee, Oklahoma.  The fight was scheduled for four rounds. This bout was Abel's first win, and her team told WBAN that it meant the world to her.  Congratulations to Abel for her first win! [Logged into master search]

Featherweight Soledad Matthysse, 127 ¼, TKO’d Guillermina Fernandez, 124,  in the third round of a scheduled four rounder.  [Logged into master search]

September 20, 2008 -  Mile High Events Center, in Commerce City, Colorado
Jennifer Barber
, 125, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Brooke Dierdorff, 124. The two were fighting for the vacant NABF featherweight title. [Logged into master search]

September 20, 2008 -  Seidensticker Halle, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany
Welterweight Cecilia Braekhus, 144 ½, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Kimberly Harris, 144 ¼. Final judges scores were 80-72, 80-72, and 80-73.  Some of the card was televised, but the Braekhus-Harris bout was not televised.  According to ARD, Braekus was in control the entire eight rounds, and that Harris showed a lot of heart, but was unable to put the Norwegian under pressure.

Super middleweight Shelly Seivert, 161 , of Severna Park, Maryland, won a four-round split decision over Carrine Hamlett, 156½, of New York. Final judges scores were 37-38, 37-38, and 38-37. Super bantamweight Ogleidis Suarez, 122,  won a seven round unanimous decision over Magdalena Leija, 119 ½ .  The final scores were 70-63 on all cards.    In a second women’s bout, Alys Sanchez, 126, won a four-round unanimous decision over Karina Lara, 127. September 15, 2008 - Arena Mexico, in Mexico City, MX Jackie “The Aztez Princess” Nava, 122, stopped Bettina Garino, 119¼, 33 seconds of the eighth round in a scheduled 10 round bout. The two were fighting for the vacant interim super bantamweight title.

September 15, 2008 - Kielce, Poland
Junior middleweight Karolina Lukasik, 152½ TKO'd Renata Rakoczi, 147, in the fifth round in a six rounder.  [Logged into master search]

Bantamweight Rosillette Dos Santos, 117½, KO’d [1:00[ Paula Montero, 117, in the third round of a 10-round title bout. The two were fighting for the vacant WB-Commission Bantamweight title. (not to be confused with the WBC) Going into this fight, Paula Motero, 6-0-0 (4KO), the accumulative record of Motero’s six opponents is 1-11-0 source, boxrec.  [Logged into master search]

September 13, 2008 - Expo Pocosí, Limon, Costa Rica
Junior middleweight Hanna Gabriel and Rachel Clark fought to a six-round draw by points. According to a local news report, Gabriel was down in the fourth and Clark in the fifth. Gabriel was having trouble with the surface, which wasn't the correct material, and kept slipping. Her hair was also getting in her eyes but she finished strongly.  Clark was cornered and in trouble when the final bell rang. Gabriel said that she wanted to have a rematch.

September 12, 2008 - Shaw Conference Centre, Edmonton, Canada
Jelena Mrdjenovich
, 132, of Edmonton,  won an eight-round unanimous decision over Lakeysha Williams, 132, of Philadelphia, PA. The final judges scores were 77-75 on all cards.

September 12, 2008 - Zossen, Germany
Junior featherweight Iris Mandeng TKO'd Irena Auer in the second round of a scheduled four rounder.  [Logged into master search]

September 10, 2008 - Pal Gym, Yonkers, New York
Maureen Shea
returned to the ring, briefly, after a twelve month hiatus, to TKO a badly overmatched El Shaddai [Ellsha] Cleffman, 146,  at 1:57 of the first round of a scheduled six round bout, Wednesday night, at the PAL Gym in Yonkers, NY. The fight, billed as the main event, on a five bout card, presented by Irish Ropes Promotions, featured Shea, fighting at 138 lbs. for the first time. Shea's last bout was September 2007, a two round TKO over Jessica Mohs (7-15-1) in New York City. Cleffman was coming off a first round stoppage, in June, at the hands of Cheryl Bontz (1-2) in North Platte, NB. Shea's record goes to 13-0, while Cleffman drops to 3--2.

September 6, 2008 - Toyota Center, in Houston, Texas
Crystal “Choo Choo”  Delgado
, 126,  (7-0, 1 KO) of Houston, won a four-round majority decision over  Caitlin Dance, 123½,  (2-3, 1 KOs) of Louisville, Kentucky.  The final judges scores were  38-38, 39-37, & 39-37.  According to a ringside observer, Dance utilized her superior height and reach to hold Delgado at bay with her jab to begin the bout, but that Delgado’s pressure eventually turned the fight to her favor.

September 6, 2008 – The Roxy, Boston, Massachusetts
Junior middleweight Kali Reis TKO’d Betsy Rowell in the second round of a four-round bout.

September 6, 2008- Grand Hotel, in Tijuana, Mexico bantamweight Galina Ivanova of Bulgaria and Zulina Munoz of Mexico fought to a 10-round draw by points.  The two were fighting for the WBC Bantamweight title.

September 5, 2008 - Buffalo Bill’s Star Arena, in Primm, Nevada 
Melissa “Huracan” Hernandez
, 125,  won a 10-round unanimous decision over Ela Nunez, 125. The two were fighting for the vacant WIBA super featherweight title.  Final judges scores were 97-93 on all cards. Photographer Mary Ann Owen who was ringside for the event said, "Nunez made a great showing, she was very busy in every round. The fight was a real crowd pleaser, lots of action and very entertaining. Both fighters boxing techniques were outstanding, they fought hard and furious every round. Nunez was there to fight and stood strong against Hernandez exchanging blows. Hernandez kept the pressure on Nunez all ten rounds, it was like the war of the wills."  This fight raised the bar in female boxing, it was an excellent match up. 

September 5, 2008 - Nojesfabriken, Karlstad, Sweden
Anna Ingman, 150¼, of Karlstad, Sweden, won an eight-round unanimous decision over Olivia Fonseca, 147½. The two were fighting for the WBC International light middleweight, and WPBF Intercontinental light middleweight title. 

September 5, 2008 - Salon Melrose, Montevideo, Uruguay
Ivone Cordoba, 114¼, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, had a six-round majority draw with Adriana “La Joyita” Herrera, 112½, of Paysandu, Uruguay. Final judges scores were 58-58, 58-58, and 58-59.
